About this event
Join fellow Flower Club members for a relaxed online Ikebana Club gathering inspired by Hinamatsuri, also called Dolls' Festival or Girls' Day, celebrated on 3 March in Japan. Families display hina dolls and wish for girls' health and happiness.
This month's creative study: create a floral arrangement that could complement a hina doll display, taking inspiration from its festive colours, elegant forms, layered composition and spirit of celebration. Consider how your arrangement might frame a display or create a celebratory atmosphere. Peach branches are traditionally associated with Hinamatsuri but are entirely optional — the focus is the festival, not a specific flower.
What to bring: a vessel, your preferred arranging tools and any locally available flowers, branches or foliage. You do not need hina dolls or peach blossoms to participate.
We'll briefly introduce the tradition, make our own arrangements and share them with friendly feedback. All ikebana schools, styles and experience levels are welcome. This is a member-led creative meetup, not a formal instructor-led class; the theme is optional. Guest demonstrations and workshops are separate.
Online · 60 minutes · Included with Flower Club membership. Join details are available to members after booking.
