PARTNER WITH FLOWER CLUB

Work with Flower Club

Flower Club International is a global platform for contemporary flower culture.

Our work spans editorial, education, events and an international community of people interested in flowers and the wider culture around them.

We work with brands and organisations across flowers, plants, gardens, design, art, culture, travel, hospitality and creative industries.

Partnerships are developed individually. They might begin with a flower, a product, a place, a question, a new idea or something you would like to introduce to the Flower Club community.

WORKING TOGETHER

Editorial partnerships

Flower Club Journal covers contemporary flower culture around the world.

We work with partners on original editorial projects including interviews, photography, commissioned stories, guides and recurring editorial series.

A grower or breeder might work with us to document a flower from production through to use. A design brand might commission a florist or artist to work with a material or object. A destination might invite us to look at its flower culture, gardens or seasonal traditions.

Paid editorial partnerships are identified with “In partnership with [Brand]”.

Flowers, products and materials

We work with growers, breeders, exporters, flower farms, toolmakers, suppliers and other businesses connected to making and working with flowers.

Projects can include product trials, demonstrations, creative commissions, education, competitions, sampling and editorial documentation.

We are particularly interested in projects that put flowers, tools or materials into the hands of people who can use them and respond to them.

Events and experiences

Flower Club produces and collaborates on events online and in person.

These range from workshops and talks to exhibitions, installations, conferences and large global events such as FLOWERTHON.

We can work with a partner on an existing Flower Club event or develop a new event around a place, material, flower, artist, subject or occasion.

Research and trend reports

Flower Club is building an international view of what is happening across flower culture.

We speak with florists, ikebana practitioners, growers, artists, teachers, businesses and people participating in flowers around the world.

This research contributes to Flower Club trend reports and editorial projects examining changes in flowers, aesthetics, materials, practice, consumer interests and the industry.

We are open to research partnerships, commissioned questions and collaborations with organisations interested in understanding where flower culture is moving.

Longer partnerships

Some projects make more sense over a season or a year than as a single campaign.

We are open to ongoing relationships with organisations whose work has a genuine connection to the subjects Flower Club covers. A longer partnership might combine editorial, events, research, education or community participation.

02

OUR CLUBS

Flower Club includes five specialist Clubs, each bringing together people around a different part of flower culture.

Partnerships may connect with Flower Club as a whole or with a particular Club where there is a natural fit.

01

IKEBANA CLUB

For people practising, studying or discovering ikebana, from beginners to experienced practitioners.

Programming introduces different schools, teachers, artists, techniques and ideas within Japanese flower culture and contemporary ikebana.

02

FLORISTRY CLUB

For florists, floral designers, students and people interested in contemporary floral design.

The Club explores practical making, techniques, materials, creative practice and the work of florists around the world.

03

FLOWER BIZ CLUB

For people building businesses and careers around flowers.

Conversations cover the practical and creative realities of working in the flower world, including pricing, partnerships, marketing, careers and running a flower business.

04

NATURE CLUB

For people interested in flowers as part of the wider natural world.

Nature Club explores plants, seasons, gardens, landscapes and ecology through talks, walks, observation and creative activities.

05

BOTANICAL BOOK CLUB

For readers interested in flowers, plants, gardens, nature, art and culture.

Books become a starting point for conversations about the botanical world and the many ways flowers intersect with history, place, art and everyday life.

ACROSS THE CLUBS

Some subjects naturally belong in more than one place.

A single flower, for example, can be considered through its cultivation, its place in nature, its use by florists, its role in ikebana and the cultural stories surrounding it.

03

ACROSS FLOWER CLUB

A partnership can appear in one part of Flower Club or connect several parts of the platform.

Depending on the project, this can include the Flower Club Journal, newsletter, social channels, specialist Clubs, Flower Hours, online programming, physical events, conferences and other global projects.

We decide the format around the idea rather than fitting every partnership into the same package.

04

WHAT MATTERS TO US

We want Flower Club partnerships to contribute positively to flower culture and the people and environments that sustain it.

Environmental responsibility is important to us. We are interested in better growing practices, seasonality, responsible sourcing, reduced waste, thoughtful use of materials and projects that help people understand the natural systems behind flowers.

We also look for partnerships that respect the knowledge, traditions and people connected to flowers. This is particularly important when working with practices such as ikebana, regional traditions, growers and culturally specific forms of making.

We value education and participation. Where possible, we want people to be able to learn something, make something, experience something or contribute to the conversation rather than simply receive an advertising message.

Flower Club maintains its own editorial and creative standards. A commercial relationship should add something useful or interesting to the Flower Club world.

We are interested in partners who share these principles.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

Better growing, responsible sourcing, seasonality, biodiversity, less waste and more considered use of materials.

RESPECT FOR CULTURE AND TRADITION

Traditional knowledge should be credited and understood in context, particularly when working with ikebana, regional practices and culturally specific forms of making.

SUPPORT FOR FLOWER KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

We value the growers, teachers, craftspeople, florists, artists and specialists whose knowledge sustains flower culture.

PARTICIPATION AND EDUCATION

We prefer collaborations that give people access, knowledge or an experience rather than simply placing an advertising message in front of them.

CREATIVE AND EDITORIAL INDEPENDENCE

Flower Club decides what is appropriate for its audience and how its editorial work is presented.

05

EDITORIAL POLICY

Flower Club's independent editorial and commercial partnerships are separate.

For paid editorial work, the commercial relationship is clearly disclosed. Partners may review factual information about their organisation, products and work. Flower Club retains final editorial and creative control.

For commissioned partnership projects, we agree the purpose and scope of the work with the partner before production begins.

The same editorial standards apply to work produced with a partner as to the rest of Flower Club Journal.
