About this event
BEYOND FLOWERS — CREATING CONTEMPORARY FLORAL ART WITH WASHI & BRANCHES
Join Andy Lee (Juang Ming Lee) of PM FLOWERS for a one-hour live Floristry Club workshop exploring contemporary floral art through the dialogue between branches, washi paper, water, and a single botanical element. By embracing simplicity, texture, transparency, and space, participants will create poetic botanical compositions celebrating the beauty of nature and imperfection.
ABOUT ANDY
Andy Lee uses plants as his artistic language to explore the relationship between nature, humanity, and cultural memory. His practice draws on the growth patterns of plants, the traces left by time, and beauty found in nature's imperfections. Combining mixed media, the Eastern aesthetics of ma (negative space) and wabi-sabi with Western floral design techniques, he explores order and wildness, stillness and tension.
PREPARE FOR THE SESSION
1. Washi paper — medium-thin, lightweight, flexible, preferably semi-translucent and suitable for wetting; multiple colours welcome. Avoid thick decorative paper, cardstock, or laminated paper.
2. Branches — one variety of fresh or dried branches.
3. One type of flower or foliage you love — approximately 5–8 stems depending on vase size.
4. Transparent glass vase(s) — any shape or size. If possible, bring two different-sized vases to explore layering.
5. Water, and your normal floral cutting tools.

Friday 6 November 2026, 2:00–3:00 PM Japan Standard Time (1:00–2:00 PM Taipei).
