Spend five days immersed in ikebana study in Tokyo, learning from a range of Japan-based instructors while exploring different approaches, perspectives and traditions within contemporary ikebana.
Designed for students, teachers, artists, florists and flower enthusiasts from around the world, this intensive offers a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of ikebana through direct study in Japan.
The week concludes with participation in the Flower Club Tokyo Autumn Exhibition, showcasing work created during the intensive.

Friday includes final project development, exhibition installation and photography.

The program welcomes a range of experience levels and encourages the exchange of ideas between participants from different backgrounds and stages of practice.
What To Expect
Throughout the week, participants will:
- Study with a range of Japan-based instructors
- Explore different approaches to ikebana
- Work with seasonal autumn materials
- Participate in demonstrations and practical workshops
- Receive feedback and critique
- Create work for exhibition
- Connect with fellow students from around the world
This is a study-intensive program rather than a sightseeing tour or retreat. The focus is on learning, practice and artistic development.
Included
- Five days of ikebana study
- Instruction from guest instructors based in Japan
- Flowers and botanical materials used during classes
- Participation in the Flower Club Tokyo Autumn Exhibition
- Exhibition photography
All materials required for the program will be provided.
Participants are welcome to bring their own tools if preferred, however this is not required. A selection of tools and equipment will be available for use throughout the intensive.
