Moribana – Low Vase Arranging

Week 2
Nageire – Tall Vase Arranging
Explore dynamic, natural lines with freestyle placements using tall vases and deeper vessels.

Week 3
Tsubo – Traditional Vase Design
Work with classic round vases to develop strong shapes, secure mechanics, and a deeper understanding of visual balance.

Week 4
Seasonal Miniatures + Creative Freestyle
End your intensive with joyful exploration to express your evolving style with freestyle arrangements.

Theory Themes

Each week also includes a creative theory topic and assignment inspired by Japanese aesthetic philosophy:

  • 和 – Wa (Harmony): Explore balance in materials, nature, and design.

  • 間 – Ma (Space): Learn the role of negative space and thoughtful placement.

  • 改善 – Kaizen (Continuous Practice): Develop creative discipline and sustainable growth.

  • 心 – Kokoro (Heart, Feeling, Essence): Express your intuitive response to nature through flowers.

What our students are saying:

  • Carolina, Frankfurt: “My Ikebana practices with you are pure bliss and each class is growth and zen moments that I value so much.”
  • Lia, Ohio: “Over the winter I took some time to deepen my ikebana practice. For me, it’s a perfect exercise in mindfulness and savoring the seasons. The lessons from @flowerclubint were just right. Can’t recommend Julia’s course enough if you’re interested! They’ve also got one off Zoom workshops if you’re in the mood for just a quick peek. It was also so satisfying to be able to use some of my self made ceramic vessels – looking forward to more of that in the future”
  • Jasmine, California: “The ikebana program you have put together really is fantastic! Such a great community as well! Really do appreciate all your classes :)”
