Each week focuses on one key style and one design principle, combining practical arranging with deeper creative development:
Week 1
Moribana – Low Vase Arranging
Learn the basic upright structure and begin your ikebana journey with one of the most iconic forms.
Week 2
Nageire – Tall Vase Arranging
Explore dynamic, natural lines with freestyle placements using tall vases and deeper vessels.
Week 3
Tsubo – Traditional Vase Design
Work with classic round vases to develop strong shapes, secure mechanics, and a deeper understanding of visual balance.
Week 4
Seasonal Miniatures + Creative Freestyle
End your intensive with joyful exploration to express your evolving style with freestyle arrangements.
Each week also includes a creative theory topic and assignment inspired by Japanese aesthetic philosophy:

間 – Ma (Space): Learn the role of negative space and thoughtful placement.
改善 – Kaizen (Continuous Practice): Develop creative discipline and sustainable growth.

Zoom practice classes are available as an optional bonus for extra support and community — attend as many as you like during June.

Attendance is optional — all course content is fully available for self-paced learning. Each class is the same for that week — offered multiple times to accommodate time zones. You are welcome to join multiple sessions per week to complete different arrangements with guidance from your teacher, as there are 2 arrangements to complete each week plus one theoretical assignment.
