November Meeting – Luxembourg
Date: Sunday 3rd November
Time: 10AM – 12PM
Location: Kapenaker Rooms & Blooms, 1a Rue de Beyren, 5432 Kapenacker Wormeldange
This is our very first Luxembourg Botanical Book Club event, and we would love to invite members and non-members to join us for this free event to discover what Book Club is all about. Please note that we have limited spaces so registrations are required.
This month we will be reading “Modern Ikebana: A New Wave in Floral Design”.
Victoria Gaiger and Tom Loxley, distinguished editors of the award-winning “rakesprogress” magazine, have authored a captivating book on modern ikebana arrangements by a new generation of floral artists from Tokyo to New York, exploring their art and inspiration. “Modern Ikebana: A New Wave in Floral Design” introduces the history and development of Japanese floral art, explores “Punkebana,” and includes an illustrated glossary of flowers and plants. This book is a visual delight and an insightful exploration of contemporary floral design, complemented by stunning photography that captures the art form that has captivated artists for centuries.
While we encourage you to read the book in advance, if you aren’t able to, don’t worry! You can take a look through the book during the event.
Hands On Session:
Along with some discussion questions, we also invite you to make your own ikebana arrangement inspired by the book.
Tea, coffee, and flowers will be provided free of charge.
Book Swap:
Members are welcome to bring their own botanical books to trade or exchange with fellow enthusiasts during the meeting.
