How To: Ikebana Arrangements Inspired by Art

Learn how to make beautiful ikebana arrangements with Camellia flowers in this online workshop co-hosted with experienced Sogetsu Ikebana teachers Sandy Marker and Julia Rush.

In this session we will make freestyle ikebana arrangements inspired by Art. In this workshop we will first have a short demonstration followed by time for you to create your own arrangement inspired by an art work. You could go very literal, and choose a piece of art with an arrangement to recreate OR choose a more abstract piece of art and make an arrangement to complement it.

Your Teacher – Sandy Marker

With extensive experience studying under master Sogetsu Ikebana teachers in Hong Kong, Sydney, and Japan, Sandy Marker has achieved Riji level, the highest level of Sogetsu Ikebana teacher. Sandy teaches students in her studio in Sydney, and online with students around the world. Sandy is highly qualified and experienced in exhibiting and leading group exhibitions, as a previous Director for the Australian Sogetsu Teachers Association.
